I just had to write Havahart to say how satisfied I am with my model 1025 trap and its ability to prevent chipmunk damage.
This spring I had noticed a small hole dug at the base of our above ground swimming pool. I tried to fill it in, but it reappeared the next day. Had to be a mole or chipmunk. The hole went under the liner several feet. This pest had to be "relocated" before the liner was compromised. Between the liner, 12,000 gallons of water, labor for replacement, and washout damage, this could have been easily a bill for $2000.
How I Used the Trap to Prevent Chipmunk Damage
I purchased your trap, baited it with pecans, and placed it at the entrance of the hole. Less than 24 hours later, I had a very excited chipmunk that needed a new home. He was then relocated to a wooded area several miles away. I again filled the hole and reset the trap in a different area of my yard that had another suspicious hole. Next day again, another chipmunk. Third day, one more. All the pecans were gone in the trap but I set it again just for kicks. Couldn't believe my eyes when 2 days later, one more trapped pest. I just want to assure you by very strict orders from my wife, all of the chipmunks were relocated alive.
At the hole, I trapped several of these guys, there were times their heads were poking up resembling the ground hog from the movie Caddyshack. After no more "customers" in that area, the trap was moved near a shed where chipmunks had been seen. On a nearly daily basis, more relocations.
Havahart Traps Continue to Prevent Chipmunk Damage
Unbelievably, these critters were all caught with no bait in the trap. To date, about 50 chipmunks were caught! I am amazed how well this trap has worked, way beyond my wildest expectations. This was money very well spent. Thanks for an excellent product, and I still continue to use it to prevent chipmunk damage in my yard.

This is a amazing story, and I want to thank you for using the have a heart humane trap. I however have to watch it. I have skunks in my neighborhood. caught one once, released it. and got sparyed. I would never kill anything. so yes. this baby skunk was a happy camper.
