Some time ago as I lay sleeping, I heard someone messing around with my cast iron skillets. I turned on the kitchen light to see who was there, thought maybe [someone] had broken in to help themselves to my hard earned food.
There was a huge rat like creature trying to get the lid off my cast iron skillet. I had never seen anything like this before. Guess she wanted to see if there was any fried fish and potatoes left for her. I crept closer to get a better look, my what big teeth you have! She bared her teeth and such a lot of them there were.
As it was 4am, decided to get up for the day. Made my coffee and started in to finishing my story. Was typing away when she made another appearance. This time she was successful, getting the cast iron lid off with gusto. Woke up my sons. They had no clue what it was either. We dined on potato pancakes, bacon and fried eggs, all the while the critter was lurking nearby. Later that morning I called the health department and demanded a live trap. I guess I sounded scared enough for them to come right over. They told me to set the trap with a can of tuna and placed it near where she entered (up through the bathtub)
The boys had made a hole in their wall to hide stuff.
Anyway that is where the lady from the health department said to put it. The boys were sleeping the next night when our nightly houseguest came calling again around 4 am. She was in luck, a nice fresh can of tuna was there waiting for her.
I was afraid they would kill her, so I took her deep in the woods to resettle away from the bustling city. I called the lady again and she warned me I could not keep a wild animal in my mobile home. ha ha Like I would want to share my home with all those teeth. That's my story and I'm stickin to it!
